Welcome to Laurel Cottage
Laurel Cottage takes its name from the arching Laurel tree over hanging the front entrance.
With mellow handmade bricks in the soft light, Laurel Cottage has changed little since it was built in 1830. An idyllic colonial retreat on the edge of historic Richmond, the cottage stands a stone’s throw from Australia’s oldest bridge.
Step through the front door into the peace of another age. The furniture is colonial and there's a comforting wood fire. Laurel Cottage is a special place where guests have the opportunity to relive a piece of history rather than observe it. But in 1986 clever restorers were at work – there’s now electric heating, TV, Radio, Microwave and all the other comforts of modern life.
When staying at Laurel Cottage you will feel as if you have discovered a colonial family cottage and gardens waiting especially for you.
